Christine Crisp

Is it in our DNA? My Mother and Grandmother were great makers. Their art was practical functional and beautiful. My art is not, although beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

My work is influenced by my love of the ancient and the wonders of architecture. I have been playing with clay for 40 years, a medium that I knew on first contact was right for me.

It allows me to tell a story in 3D. Recently I have been adding fused glass to my pieces, both mediums from the earth. I make art for pleasure and to escape the mayhem of modernity.
