Christine Crisp

A few years ago, I changed the clay body I had worked with for decades, to the delicate touch of porcelain. My work became smaller.

Bottles, handbuilt with slabs, pressmoulded, pinched & some wheel thrown. The bottle shape allows me to have fun with form & quirky stoppers. I love texture & colour, these I use in my larger porcelain pieces. Colouring the porcelain body also adds another dimension.

I still work in stoneware & terracotta because this clay has the strength needed for my larger sculptures. I enjoy adding fused glass to these pieces & am working on introducing it into my porcelain bottles.
