Kirsty Riddle

I chose to depict two distinctive and beautiful plants that provide vital habitat and a food source for Black Cockatoos in Tasmania; the She-oak (Casuarina) and the Saw Leaf Banksia (Banksia Serrata).  I was particularly drawn to the spikey she-oak seed pod form and the serrated edge if the banksia leaves, both of which I have highlighted on the vessels. The underglaze colours I used are based on the flowers, leaves and seedpods of these two species.
