My unique-state monoprints reflect my love of Tasmania’s coastal waters. They are my response to ephemeral effects created by weather, sunlight, gentle breezes, hidden objects or currents on water’s surface. I am drawn to dramatic, unpredictable, weather-whipped surf; and equally, to the gentle serenity of still water. To suggest these waterscapes, I have developed a mono-printing method which imbues my unique-state images with barely controlled abstract elements. The familiar and sequential steps in my printing process are contemplative and repetitive processes and I become immersed in those serene or wild and exciting places once again.
