My inspiration comes from Tasmania’s coastal waters. My artworks reflect my quest to convey the sensations of being on, in or near water and to capture the unique patterns and movements on water’s surfaces. The works reference an endless range of water moods and our oceans’ constant unceasing tides that create and erase, pull and push, hide and expose, swell and recede. I have developed a method of monoprinting that imbues my one-off images, usually printed through several steps, with barely controlled abstract elements; sometimes suggesting a painterly seascape with turbulent water or the surface of a calm rockpool.
