My work focusses on exploring links between mental health and the making and viewing of visual art, in the form of quilts.

Portal celebrates my experience of James Turrell’s skyspace installation, Within Without 2010, which I visited at the Australian National Gallery in 2013. This was at a particularly hard time in my life and Portal describes an early recognition of the ability of art to turn my thoughts away from painful rumination.

Green Space is part of a planned series that wonders if a quilt can harness nature to contribute to creating a calming indoor environment.
